On May 18, 2010 we voted in the German automotive company’s general meeting. Etica SGR abstained from the approval of the management board’s remuneration plan and asked BMW to include social and environmental goals in the calculation of the variable remuneration for the top management.

On May 22, 2010 for the first time, Etica SGR joined the multinational gas company’s general meeting. Despite the efforts to connect management’s remuneration also with workplace safety and health, we abstained from the approval of the  management’s remuneration plan. Etica SGR voted against the financing of political parties.

K+S – On May 11, 2010 Etica SGR voted in the company’s general meeting. K+S is a German  company engaged in the production of fertilizer and industrial salt. Etica SGR abstained from the approval of the management board’s remuneration plan and voted against the election of a director due to a conflict of interest.

For the second year Etica SGR voted in the British farmaceutical company’s general meeting held on April 29, 2010. Etica SGR voted, together with 4,1% of the shareholders, against the approval of the management remuneration relation because of an increasing gap between top management’s remuneration and employees’ average. Etica Sgr gave some recommendations: to keep on investing in R&S, to monitor company’s supply chain and to improve training. We asked the company an higher disclosure on retributions for the managers without increasing the gap with the average employees’ salary.
