In 2017 we continue to work on the issues raised at 2016 shareholders’ meetings and developed in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the UN plan of action to encourage sustainable economic, social and environmental development.
The main strategic areas of dialogue are:
- Climate change: environmental policy and carbon emissions accounting, emissions reduction targets and low carbon economy projects, policies to combat deforestation and promote more efficient water management.
- Respect for human rights in the supply chain: policies and controls on responsible recruitment, extraction and commercialization of minerals from conflict zones.
- Tax optimization: focus on transparent tax practices to combat unfair tax competition.
We also focus attention on the use of pesticides and antibiotics in the agro-food industry, food access and education, transparent labelling, and topics related to information security (privacy and management of sensitive data).
